The winner of this year’s Women’s Wheelchair Race at the Boston Marathon also won the recent Chicago Marathon race.
Tatyana McFadden, a 28-year-old competitor from Maryland crossed the finish line in an official time of 2 hour, 4 minutes, 39 seconds. New reports say it was the slowest winning time in 30 years, though weather played a role.
The win gives her five Boston Marathon wins and a record-setting 22 victories in the Abbott World Marathon Majors series. Torrential rain made for an extremely rough race.
